You know I played an emulated hack of Super Mario Bros. once called Super Link Bros. It functioned a lot like this comic would in an ideal world. Link eats the mushroom (peice of heart), he turns into sidescrolling Link from Zelda 2. Link eats the flower (flashing master sword) he shoots swords out of his sword, as in Zelda 1 when you have full health. I lost the game though. . . accidentally deleted it.

Ooh! Did you just modify the sprites for the game?

Or did you actually re-create the game?

If you just modded it, could you tell me how? (Or somewhat) because I could make some cool game changes.

Or, if there was a side-scrolling game generator! That would be cool, you know, making the height of the jump, and all the obsticles and stuff.

Send the game to us and maybe we can put it in the Downloads section (I'm not sure if there's any legalities that would prevent us from doing that).

I played a hack of Super Mario Bros. with a badly drawn Sonic replacing Mario in it. It was kinda amusing for a while.

You also need a emulator, and those ARE illegal, I think.

Anyways, the rom prob. is too.

I dunno though.

Emulators are legal.
Roms are not legal (not even if you own the game or have it for 24 hours or any of that other BS).
Hacked (edited) roms are not legal.
IPS patches used for editing roms (applying hacks) are legal.

So, there you go, that thing ain't legal.

Even though roms of NES games aren't legal, the carts are no longer in production and it's very unlikely Nintendo will re-release them, so they illegalness of them seem to get kinda overlooked, because no damage is being done to Nintendo by it. They're not losing any money.

Oh, and you can buy blank cartridges for some consoles and drives to write on them online.

It's not so much the federalies I'm worried about, but that your host might shut you down to avoid complications.

That's what a game pad and full screen is for, but I agree, I rather be playing the game on a TV set with the actual system and game then on a computer with an emulator and rom (although the save state feature emulators have is really nice).

I remember the Link two game it was to wake princess zelda from this enternal sleep. But some how I was never able to beat the game. Or just got annoyed trying to get to the last castle.

I don't think you need a nice computer. I mean, we're talking 8 bit or 16 bit graphics.

Zelda 2 is... In my opinion the hardest Zelda game...

Link's Awakening is pretty dang hard too.

But the story starts with an earlier princess Zelda, cursed with an eternal sleep.

Then Link decides to try and help her.

Some of the poses for taller Link could of been better though.

I thought Link's Awakening was one of the easiest Zelda games. Link to the Past is one of the hardest in my mind. I still can't get passed that damn moth boss.

I think it was up when PE2000.net was up and running, but it got shut down. Damn shame too, great site. Nowadays I use IRC for my rom downloads.
