Why are we supposed to vote daily if we dont get updates daily? I've dropped down to coming to this site once a week and there hasn't been a single update.

Because the voting sites only allow visitors to vote once per day (per IP address). It helps to feed his ego and encourage him to make more strips.

You know, we COULD say that we'll only vote once for every new strip, hehe. That'll get him and Charybdis cracking! ::evil grin::

In fact, I hereby announce that I will vote once on each voting site, but only on days when there's a new comic.

P.S. I hope you start coming by more than once per week. Even if the comics aren't there, the forum is great!

Mwahahaha! I shall conspire to do so too!

From now on, I will vote on each site on every day that you put up a comic. Get cracking *Cracks whip*

Mwahahaha :P

Oh yeah, this will really get us to update more often. Shows how much you appreciate us. Thank the power outage for the lack of a comic this weekend BTW.

We appreciate you plenty when you give us stuff to laugh and giggle and err, cry (from laughter) to.

Just like, 10 days... No comic... :( It's all, not exciting to come here when there is maybe a post, and no new comics.

Oh yeah, did ya get hit by the power-outage? Sorry if ya did.

I was going to say something else, but I kinda forgot.

Well, I usually don't criticize, but this is the only irregular comic I follow. Most, once they realize they can't update that often, just say, 'Okay. Weekly updates.' So that you come when you should, and aren't disappointed. But I suppose this'll all a big conspiracy to try to get more hits. o.O

And, o'course, about the power outage, it didn't affect you before Thursday, or Thursday morning, or when you posted that reply. So,... s'a silly defense.

I said us, not our work. Telling us to make a comic or else you will do something that hurts the comic is not showing appreciation. Stuff like this does NOT put us in a good mood, and makes us NOT want to make comics. Would you do something for someone who kept asking and demanding and threatening, and not even saying "Thank You" afterwards, but just going on asking and demanding and threatening again? When did we ever say we WILL add comics each week or each day or whatever? Yes, a comic wasn't added for a week before the blackout, but we were going to do a comic that day then it hit (no joke). And the computer only got back up and running and I had a lot of work to do on it first (job related work, what actually gives me money to live). And Charybdis is away right now so I'm stuck doing the comic all by myself...

Anyway, sorry if I sound mean or whatever, I haven't had the best of weeks, and this thread doesn't help. I'll see if I can get a comic up soon, but when you're not in a good/happy mood, how can I make a funny comic?

I'm sorry that you feel that way. I assure you that I had no intention of ruining anyone's day. My intent was not to threaten you or Charybdis into making more comics. I was hoping it would be more of a motivational thing.

There are three ways that we can say Thank You for your work on the comics:

1: Say "Thank you". This is what I'm assuming you're principally referring to. Because I don't say those words to you every week doesn't mean that I'm not appreciative, it just means that I want to show my appreciation in another way. See #2.

2: Vote on the top comics sites. This was the intent of my post about posting when comics are up. When we vote, we're helping to drive more traffic to your site.

3: Donate money. I would have no problem donating to Link and Friends. The fact of the matter is that I have nothing to donate. I haven't had a job since June (not for a lack of trying, either), and I have a lot of financial responsibilities that I have to take care of before I can consider sparing some donation money, much like yourself, I'm sure. In fact, most people reading this probably feel the same way.

In summary, the intent of my voting decision was this:
"If you post comics, I'll thank you by voting for your site and bringing traffic."

But it seems that my words were misunderstood to mean:
"If you don't post comics, I won't vote!"

Please keep up the good work on the comic. You have a lot of fans that are addicted to Link and Friends, and continued work is appreciated more than you may know. I just hope that I have cleared the air a little.

Moo!

Sabin, it seems to me that one of those is just a nicer way of saying the other.

And Me, was it 9:30 am because you just woke up, or because you stayed up all night?
You guys reply fast.

It is more than just a nicer way... the intent of the message is fundamentally different. I want to encourage Wolfenhex and Charybdis to continue to put out quality comics. I do not want to sound like I am threatening them, because I am not doing that at all.

I am their friend and fan, not just some guy who is jilted because of the lack of comics. Please do not misunderstand me. Thank you.

It's hard to be motivated to do a comic when the elements are against us. The day that Wolfenhex had the power outage, I was moving, and I just last night got back online, so... New comic now!

Welcome back! I completely understand about the elements. You can't help it that Ohio sucks (referring to the cause of the power outage). But I like the new comic! Keep up the great work!

Edit: And, as promised, I shall now vote for Link and Friends. And a hearty "Thank You" to you both for your outstanding work!

As promised (again), I have voted. However, I did not get the errors mentioned in another thread. Maybe because it is a new day? Who knows...

Again, thank you Hex and Char!
