Is it gonna be an actual movie, or is it gonna be done in Flash?

Flash (much friendlier on file size). It will be based off the comic and probably have the same jokes, but being you need stuff for those parts of the levels you don't see them go through in the comic, it will have a lot of new jokes too. It's gonna grow (get longer) as the comic goes on (maybe after each world is finished, we'll make a movie of it).

Intresting pieces of information:
• Link has 2 frames of animation when walking and Mario had 3.
• Nothing actually hits the sides of the pipe.
• The clouds are still blue even if the sky is black.
• The clouds and bushes are the same sprite.
• Mario's sprite is 16 pixels in width when super, but the "collision detection" only uses 12.
• There are no stacked bricks in the standard (above ground) worlds.
• Green koopa troopas get darker underground but red ones stay the same color.

Ok, I'll shut up now...

Do you have the sprites for the bushes and the clouds? If not, I could send you some. I got them off some Angelfire site. Forgot what it was, though.

Yeah, I've also read the comics several times... Still make me laugh, expecially at the "Ass-Biters" part.

Glad the comics are still funny the 2nd, 3rd, 45th... time around.

This comic will never get old.

Some other pieces of info:

• You can only find flagpoles outside.

• In the outside, pipes are green or white. In the underground, pipes are just green. In castles, pipes are white. In underwater, they're sea green. In the underwater part of 8-4, the pipes are blue with pink outline.

• When you beat the game, you are on the second quest, which replaces goombas with buzzy beetles. They move faster, too. =P When you beat the second quest, it says you are presented with a new quest(again), but you're actually not. The next quest(or as they claim it to be) is actually the second quest again.

• When time runs out, and you're Fire Mario, the little Mario dying sprite appears, but with the Fire Mario's pallete(sp?).

Uhh.. Facts... (Because, I need to)

•If you end a level with 2, 4(?), 7, or 9. (I think) you get little fireworks! Whooee! (I don't think I got that entirely right.

• If you swim up to the top of a water level, it won't let you go anymore.

•Level 8-4 is the only Water/Land level morely based on land.

• On the remake (SM All-Stars) The toads appeared to me more held captive, I believe they were in a bag when you came across them.

•You can run across gaps only 1 square wide, but if you kick a Koopa Shell, it won't make it. No matter how fast it goes. You could be running slower than it, and you'll make it, it won't.

• The "Minus Level" is pretty hard to get to, but all fun and glitchy!!!

•There are 4 different warp places. (Right?) Level 1-2, Uhh, 4-2 I think. 4-3, and another...

• What about world 5-2 and 6-2? They are both land levels with water parts (and coin heaven!)

• In Japan's SMB -1 actually has King Koopa and you can beat the level and move onto -2 then -3. When you beat -3 the game restarts and you are now on the 2nd quest. Gotta love Famicom ROM's.

• No, there are only 3, 1-2, and 2 (yes 2) on 4-2.

Another:

• The fastest you can finish any level (from start to end without shortcuts) is 40 seconds -- for those of you who want a challange.

...How was that figured out? Just by taking marios running speed with the distance of the course?

Gotta try that...

And isn't every level the exact same length? (Except last one)

I thought you got fireworks on any level, it just depended on if you hit the very top of the flagpole.

But I haven't played Mario in years. I'm not allowed to hook the NES back up. </3. I need my NES and SNES.

The Cat says: Mrowr.

To make fireworks appear, it has to do with the time limit. You get 100 points for each boom. If you reach the flagpole with a time limit ending in 3 or 6, you get 3 or 6 booms. You get 1 boom if you reach the flagpole with a time limit ending in 1. I think what I said was true. But I got the info off someone I know.

It's still under constructing, only got 1/4 of the first scene that could be considered done, although I'm obsessed with having everything just right, so that could be 1/100th....

WOO HOO! I was there when he added music to the movie. Now the sound effects are added!!! They sound great, too, Hex. You found a source for them or a way to rip them with the music going? Well, good job--sounds nice.

Thanks for not posting the URL el guerrero oscuro. It really isn't that hard to find (I'm surprised so many people are having problems, it's not really hidden that well).

Yes, he really found it (if anyone still doubts it). It looks like he found the SWF file though, not the actual movie page (SWF file shows the movie run off so if you see anything weird in it, that's probably why).

Hope you enjoyed what's been done so far. Unfortunately you can't really tell how much we've got done being there is a lot of "behind the movie" programming you can't see. We're doing it differently then how normal Flash movies are done.

Eh, what can you do. I'd rather see the finished product anyway,so I only tried a couple of guesses.

A Fatal Exception B0 has occurred in some darn VXD or another. This is probably because you said something that was hurtful to Windows' feelings. So the current application, or some other application, or the whole OS, will be terminated.

* You can try going back to Windows and getting on with life, but who are we kidding, that never works.
* Or you can reboot, whereupon Windows will be rude to you because you didn't shut down properly, which you of course couldn't do.

Either way, you'll probably end up seeing this screen again.

I found out your little game ,el guerrero oscuro. You say you found the movie but, you didn't. The pic proves nothing you probably got that picture off of some fan who made fan art, you might of got it off of one of the creators who made the movie by e-mailing them for a pic of the movie, or you made it yourself trying to make everyone go crazy, to just get in their head and make them go nuts. Well, if you got any real proof then give us some clips of the movie, no pictures just some clips at least 20 seconds long. But why am I asking, you can't get them and you don't know where they are.

How about this? So far, you've made 98 comics. Maybe you make 20 comics per Flash movie. For example, the first 20 comics in the first Flash. Then the next 20 in the next Flash. Then on the fifth Flash, 81-100. 99-100 is non-existant. Right now.

Haven't done much, but do have plan to dusting it off and resume on it soon (mainly this is a very busy month, so it's hard to find time for anything).

It's been a busy(And Hell-Wrought) month for me too, this goes for school the LEAST! December is the worst month of my life(Untill 25), my Dad's girlfriend puts on these Christmas songs sung by religious folk, now I'm not Religist(Is that a word?) but they get so annoying, hearing them everynight. Oh well, most matters will be sorted out for everyone by January, so I look forward to seeing the movie soon.

I put on old fashion Christmas music once in a while, but not every night all the time. This month is hell cuz of finals. I've seen 2 nervous breakdowns so far. (besides not getting to sleep tell 5 am pacific time my self) so ya. But my vacation starts on the 18th, and I have a whole month off!! Whoot! :)

The problem is the text. I want it to be outlined which Flash doesn't do, so I'm creating my own flash component to do it, which is a LOT harder then it sounds. So when that's done, then you'll finally see something.

I will learn Flash next year, then make nice movies! Is movie maker a flash program or something?

Talon: It's not that easy tolearn how. Making movies takes a while. Ask anyone. I'm gonna use macromedia Flash MX if I can find it. I can make voices and stuff if anyone will audition (I'll tell you guys who the chars are when I start accepting auditions.) when it begins. I'm already Xero's voice, though, since its generally me.

Sakura: I think so. It's mostly like it, except Microsoft made it, not Macromedia. I bet your movies will be great, though, so it won't matter will it?

A Fatal Exception B0 has occurred in some darn VXD or another. This is probably because you said something that was hurtful to Windows' feelings. So the current application, or some other application, or the whole OS, will be terminated.

* You can try going back to Windows and getting on with life, but who are we kidding, that never works.
* Or you can reboot, whereupon Windows will be rude to you because you didn't shut down properly, which you of course couldn't do.

Either way, you'll probably end up seeing this screen again.

Flash is unbelievably easy to work with, but is also very powerful. Much, much, much more powerful then anyone who's never used it would believe. The only problem is, the more advanced you get, the more of a pain it is to use, and well, I'm trying to do something pretty complex (even if it doesn't sound like it) because I gotta be different (damn me!)

I know it's what they all say, but I CAN imagine how powerful it is, I'm Talon remember? (Ask Dan for more details).

Syncronizing the stuff is always hard.

Synchronizing stuff is usually very easy (especially in flash). Beat Poochie's Adventure II to see the end game movie synched to the music.

BTW, it's impossible to synchronize a flash movie in a Windows OS other than XP (every single play is at a different speed, and it may seem right the first time, but then the 2nd time it screws up). Don't believe me, go visit Macromedia's web site and look it up yourself.

ive got a prob w/ my flash, the sprites allways have the white around it, so i cant really have a background!

What type of file did you upload it as?

Sounds more complicated everyday...

just a simple gif. but since i save w/ paint, it has a different color

Reload it with photo editor and save it back in gif format. Maybe it will work.

The GIMP, Photo Editor, Print Shop, VuePrint, Photo Shop.
Use one of them to save GIFs with colours you picked.

It's pretty damn good. I know flash is hard and takes a while but, I've been searching for 12-6 months and theres only 3 chapters. Damn it probably won't be done with it till March - May 2005.
