It's not going back to how it was and it's not finished yet. I still have a list of things that needs to be done that I'm working on.

On the plus side. The forum is much faster then it used to be (still does that sometimes slow sometimes fast thing, but the majority seems to be very fast now). And problems such as deleted posts being counted still are fixed.

Because you don't know where the edit button is. Under the Posts, Joined, Last Post crap on one of your posts you see an Delete button and an Edit button. Click Edit, then type in the excess schtuff.

Was already planning on doing the rings for 50+. Don't like the sword or arrows (don't follow the same color scheme). I'd go with the potions too, but don't think they'd fit with the purpose.

A sticky is a message that stays at the top for however long the people with authority want it to stay there. Usually, it's used for rules or announcements that everyone needs to see.

I think when the forum is finally done, I'm going to go through it and delete every post I find pointless (which is a lot of them). Not only is it filling the board with spam and annoying readers, but it also takes up drive space on the server (not much, but it adds up).

I've been considering doing a "who's online" list of anyone who's visited the forum in like the past 5 minutes, but that might take up too much server resources from constantly needing to update a file each time you do something.

The server being down was pretty much a problem with the disk drive. Our host says it shouldn't happen again, but I'm gonna wait until next weekend to see if it happens again before I feel safe that it's gonna stay up (being it also happened last weekend).

So that's what happened!

Actually there is construction, just behind the site where you can't really see it. I think the last noticeable change was to the member list.

We would NEVER choose anything based off of how many posts someone has. And if we ever do chose mods, it would be based on how good of topics they post, and how often they are around.

Good job Wolfenhex, glad to see that this board (If it will get Mods) goes with the same rules as other ones.

Haveing mods would be cool, IF they didn't start acting like the BnG mods. Some of the mods there are cool, and some have major power trip issues. I dont think that will happen here though cuz this forum is smaller and a lot more laid back than the BnG forum.

I think that having a section in the index where you can see what topics have been updated is such a good idea ( I know I say that a lot...:) ) I really like seeing if any one posted recently right away. (I'm not the one to search and find things ALL the time...)

I agree with Moonbeam. In fact, all the traffic to the Forum is one of the reasons I didn't post for a really long time. You can ask Shadic and Me about this: I used to post a reply for every post on the Forum. At one time, I was the Top Poster. Everyone knew that I would be the one that would almost ceratinly reply. In the old days of the Forum, when most topics stopped getting posts, the last poster was Sabin. Of course, those days are long past, though that may change with this Recent Updates feature!

I like this comic, and this Forum, and hope that I will be able to post as much as I once did, being cautious of my Title, of course. : )

I have a small sugestion. I think it would be nice to have a list of who is on the forum when they sign in. I think that this would be nice because after I post on the forum I would like to see if there is anyone else around so to see if I should hand around or just log off.

I know that some people would not like this because they might not want people to know when they are on (which they do anyways when you post something) so if thats a bad idea, you could just have a number of how many people are signed in.

Yeah, that would be an excellent idea. An option could be added, where you can choose to have your name hidden from the view of other members in the Members Online list. Of course, this would all have to be coded by Wolfenhex, so it is really up to him whether or not such a feature is added. I would love to see it, but would have to have to code it!

I usually hang around for about 15 minutes to a half an hour to see if my posts get any replies. If they do not, then I close it and maybe come back later or the next day, hehe. Of course, that is where the Recent Updates thing comes in handy; you can see if you're the last poster in the ones that you care about. It's a great system, if you ask me! 8)

Some forums have pages in topics. In this forum, 9 posts are in a page. Why not make it 15 posts per page?

A "who's online" list isn't going to happen. It's easy to do, but really will hurt the server from needing to constantly write to a datafile everytime you do something.

What do you mean by "pages in topics"?

It's actually set to 10 per page (nice round number, not to much and not to little). But sometimes it will mess up and show 9 or 8 when people start deleting their posts.

How do I get my personal update thingie to stop? I don't want it to update anymore! It's only annoying and no longer helpful now!

Yes Sabin, you used to be the top poster, battling with "Me!" (Formerally just known as "Me" as in, without the exclaimation mark)

Those were quite excellent days, and then I showed up, shy at first, then starting posting insanely, even more than you. :P

Alas, your posting slowed much, and then I passed you. Then, Dustminion, and we dueled over post amounts for awhile, he'd be in the lead for a couple seconds, then I see that, and make sure he couldn't pass me for a week or so... :D

Then, Me (Still, with the name that lacks the exclaimation mark) posted the slightly famous, "I QUIT!!! >.<" topic, of which said that he had given up attempting to reach the top poster slot, as he was around 40 posts behind me. (Way back then, as in, a couple of months ago, that was alot of posts, now there are people running around (Like me) with over 600....

Now, the forum is not based on posts, but the quality of them, much a better day it is now, then when I had around 400....

Anyways... The menu-type thing where you add topics DOES seem to be a little glitchy, as I tried to get one up there, it wouldn't go, then I viewed another topic, and that other topic appeared right up there without a problem...

Could you make like, and option right next to a topic that will make you add it? It would be much easier...

How come when you clcik on someones name it says they are bricks? It used to say anyone was a goomba when you click on them but that's besides the point. Is it supposed to show thier acctually title. I was just wondering.

To finish off what we were saying, everyone on my friend's forum he personally knows(and me). Now as for construction, I asked about a week ago, and construction is going on 'behind the scenes' if you know what I mean.

I really don't know why anyone would want to stop the updater (it doesn't cost you or us any extra resources aside from 1 small cookie on your browser), but I will get around to adding a remove button to stop it.

Quoting other posts is a common thing on almost every forum. I already plan on adding it.

Construction has been slowed recently, but it shall resume around the end of the year/start of the next.

I don't like thread hijacking. I really hate it when I goto a topic (on any forum) and it's a full of completely unrelated stuff that I have no interest in. It's not that hard to start a new post when the topic starts to drift.

This is true Wolfenhex, making a new topic ISN'T hard, but there would be a lot more topics in the Spam or Uncat area, really.

It COULD be your computer, I had no difficult experiences here. But, it might have been construction, or maybe you blocked because someone likes you and doesn't want to talk to you anymore. Nah, I'm just kidding, I'm not funny am I? Didn't think so, but yes, could have been construction, you never know. Wolfenhex might not even know, or he might.

I think the HTML tags are good even if I spent 3 years of my life mastering the code and you just put them there for people to use like there common, but that's okay, but you know what would be really cool a toolbar for when your posting on the site cause then you can change the color of your text and the size, type, and style.

Yah, to be honest Wolfenhex, my friends forum has more Smileys, more tags and less people than this one, you should go steal some ideas that all other forums use off his, just find his URL in the Megaman ZeroX topic in comics.

I don't like smileys at all, that's why there are so few here.

More things will come in time, I'm more concerned with getting everything done than concentrating on just one thing. The tags here are all you really need, but others may come later.

And I don't steal ideas Talon, and I doubt your friend made his forum. Probably just used phpBB or vBullen like 80-90% of the forums on the internet are.

Rephrasement, don't steal them, just use them. His forum is powered by Snitz or whatever. You don't like a lot of things do you? Smileys, Titles, etc. You're kinda like me, 'cept less negative. What's the different between a PNML and an HTML tag?

If it's a feature unique to that forum (and not a feature common in just about every forum out there), it would be stealing their ideas.

I would rather not know about it anyway, in case I have any of the same ideas.

I've been using AOL when it was a DOS program (before Windows). I am SICK of smiley faces. I know others like them though, so added support for them on the forum.

PNML is much easier to use for people who don't know any HTML.

It's easier to remember and work with for those who don't know HTML. Plenty have already started using it, some I don't even think I've ever seen them use HTML here.

Me, I got to erase all in my temporary internet folder in order to see it.

I delete it, close IExplorer, log off an on the internet so my IP Address changes(I could stack votes for LAF and FFQ this way, hm) then log back in and change it. Takes less than a minute.

Press F5. It will do a full reload of everything on the page instead of just the general content (text).
