Anybody never played the metroid game series? Well, you miss something. If you haven't played Metroid Prime yet, then you SHOULD! It's the game of last year! The best game of the last E3! Sincerely, you should try at least Metroid Prime. If you like side-scrolling action, then try Metroid Fusion. Plus, you can connect MF & MP to get bonuses! The metroid games are the best!

I only play Metroid for the NES, really. I don't have a Gamecube. :(

I play Metroid for NES and GB, in other words, 1 and 2. I hate Prime, it's the worst thing to happen to Metroid ever. I've never played Super or Fusion, and I've only beaten Return of Samus. Go Screw Attack!

Yes it's my opinion and I'm entitled to it, as are you(to your own I mean). I don't have a thing for First-Person shooters(IE 007, Wolfenstien) but side-scrollers are my favourite(MEGAMAN!)

Side-scrollers? You mean platformers. Yeah, there are a lot of platformers in the gaming universe. And they're my favorite type of video game. Yeah. I'm going to see if I can beat Metroid for NES, tonight.

I can't believe someone doesn't actually like Metroid Prime. It got most awards last year. But the only thing that I would like in MP, it's a multiplayer option. This would be good! Also, a server like X-Live, to play games with players all-round the world...

But Talon, sakura does raise a good point, we are all here to talk about stuff, but sakura, just because Talon likes to donate his time to L&F, it doesn't mean that he is competing with anyone. OK, do both of you get the point, now no more bickering you two, i don't wanna hear it. (Yay, i feel like a peace keeper)

Anyways, I haven't played any metroid games, except for one of them for the snes, but I forget which one it is ( I am ashamed, I usually remember all games I play, I am sorry)

This is getting off topic. I played MII:RoS, but I found there was no chalenges in all (except finding your way around...). My favorite game 2D metroid game was the one on the SNES (I liked that boss where you get to destroy a small turret then when the big boss grabs you, you had only to hook yourself to the broken turret to electrify the beast and yourself... toasted!). Have you guys heard about M:ZM? It's a remake of M1 and SM I believe... I'll probably buy it.

I've played Fusion and RoS, no more. Beaten them both, hate the Spider from Fusion. Hate it bad! Hate the final boss from RoS too, the Lizard thingy.

I've played and beaten the snes version, still havent beaten fusion or prime. but in fusion i thought there were no more metroids yet that place had a huge bunch of them (well not anymore)im trying to fight ridely for fusion, any suggestions?

You mean the Space Spider and the Queen Metroid...
Beaten them...

Tip for beating Spider.
When she tries to grab you, curve into a ball and go to the corners.
Fire stuff (except non-charged beams) in her mouth when you can, even when she spits fire at you. Fire is less lethal than her deadly grab.
When she flies around, shoot loads of missiles, then after you run out, finish with charges...

Tips for queen :

Go in morph ball and enter her mouth, drop some bombs while inside, and repeat... queen will be no more sooner than you think.

He's easy. Charge you Wave Beam and release it. Do this always. Also, run left to right, right to left (minimizes the damge you receive...). Shoot in his face when he grabs you. Don't use missiles, because it's gonna take you longer to beat him, and he will have the time to kill you.

You can hurt the Final Lizard Boss thingy with Bombs? Whoa...cool.

The queen metroid? Yes you can, only by the inside. Let her eat you, then drop as much bombs as you can before she spits you out.

Uh, okay I think we're talking about different games now, I'm talking about Return of Samus for GB, she can't eat you in that.

beat ridely now i got to fight the sa-x

SA-X : Easy or hard, depends of your skill.

Run to the opposite side of the room (not under the low ceilling!! Stop before that...) Charge your beam then fire it at the SA-X when it's not in screw attack mode. Then run away and repeat. It will mutate a bit later, Same strategy, except that it will jump very high. Dodge. Then finish by killing the core with missiles.

Maybe you should go back and search for some more energy tanks. Also, you can freeze the SA-X (not mutated) with your missiles if needed. If you need energy, shoot beams and loads of parasites from the core will come out of it. Same if you run out of missiles (Shouldn't happen...).

beat the game :P the last boss was the easist i think, i dident die once, unlike the others ones, just ran up to it and shot like crazey.

That's what you had to do. Shoot him. I had a damageless tactic, the one that you charge the beam, shoot it at the metroid and run to the left out of it's claw attack. Then I repeated. But this takes time for nothing.

really, i was getting more hurt trying to do yours tactic, i was getting wupped, then i said 'forget this' and charged strait at him and i dident get touch, i just kept shooting so he would back off instead of attacking me

You can actually reduce the recovery time (when he slashes you) if you press left, right, until you recover.

I haven't played many Metriod games but there cool, and I haven't beat any.

I've played amd beaten all of the metroids except for Super metroid, which I don't even have!*sniff*
I wish I had it though. Anyone else hear about the new Metroid for GBA coming out early next month? I'm saving up for it, cause I'm DYING to have it!
P.S. Did anyone have to make a map of the first metroid to get around? I mapped the whole game, and I tell ya, I probobly saved alooooot of time on it. Plus now I can run through the game- without looking at the map- in about an hour, and beat it.

I thought Metroid Prime was the holiness of all FPS games. I had to buy new pants after I played that game.

The old Metroid games kick ass, but I LOVE Prime. Then again, I prefer FPS to platforms, so, whatev.

I love killing things, and we kill a lot in these games!

Prime was a VERY good game. It was lots of fun, and I really can't say it was too short... Sadly Metroid: Zero Mission is too short for my liking. I've already beaten it (almost) twice! As far as my favorite power up goes, I'd have to say it would be the spiderball from Metroid II, return of Samus. It was really fun rolling up walls and such! And the 'secret worlds' in metroid II were always really cool.
And Samus looks (without her suit) VERY cool in Zero Mission. In my opinion, she definently looks best in Zero Mission. I was a bit dissapointed with how she looked in prime, And she looked good in the first one- except she was 8-bit, so it was hard to tell exactly what she really looked like.
