I love these movies! My favorite is Return of the king. Do you guys like them?
I'm stuck in a world that does not exist
There are people, but they are not real
They speak for hours, yet don't say a word
Their lives are right here yet they have no life
They're isolated,yet connected to all
We're always in this place, but not really there at all
All we see is a blinding light, we never hear a call
What am I to do
When I'm stuck in a world that does not exist
Left with a pain that is all but bliss.

Ah.... LOTR I listen to its sweet soundtrack as I type this. It... It is just so wonderful to me..... it's mine, my own, my precious. It fills my heart with joy to show that it is properly appreciated here with this topic. Long live LOTR!!
Time is a fickle thing.
Through you hands always trickling.
You feel the good times will always last.
Then suddenly they're in the past.
Then you realize that you have,
Nothing.

I'm going to see Return of The King tomorrow, if any of you want to keep your friendship with me, don't spoil a word about it.

I knew this'd be the one topic in this category. :D Talon, why in the world has it taken you this long to go see it?! And how could you've gone this long without hearing the plot, either? o.O

I love the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I have a friend who can't tell me which is his favorite because he recognizes that, like the book, these three movies are all really one long movie with two bathroom breaks. :D I might be starting to lean in that direction. I'm also thinking that I liked FotR the best, though, so I don't know.

One thing I don't suggest to anyone: don't make the first movie you see after any of the LotR movies be League of Extrodinary Gentlemen. You'll wonder how in the world people are allowed to get away with anything LESS than what Peter Jackson (director of LotR) did.

It's not my fault, it's my Dad's, and not hearing the whole damn plot I'm lucky...

ah, seems my post got lost in the infinite void, so i shall restate..
The movies didn't really tickle my fancy. Peter Jackson.. seems to focus MUCH too Much on the dark and action-packed, sacrificing too many important story elements in the process. Oh, wheres Tom Bombadil, Tom Bombadillo u.u
Lots of innacuracies though... like how the Hobbitses have a strong Irish accent when they are based on the Dutch... o.O

If they could remove the Hobbits it would be a better movie and it's already a good one.

RotK is now nominated for 11 Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director. I think it's an injustice to ignore Sean Astin as Sam, though. He did an AMAZING job; I simply loved him. I don't think many other people could've done such an amazing job.

1UP, I liked the dark, action-packed feeling to it all. I suppose that's just the kind of movie-goer that I am, however. :D

The Hobbits were supposed to be Dutch? I thought that JRR Tolkien wrote the books to be mythology to just the British Isles. I do know that there were inaccuracies concerning the specifics of the accents, though. Certain hobbits were supposed to have certain accents, certain men certain accents, etc. But I don't worry too much about that. I'd rather have perfect actors with imperfect accents than perfect accents and imperfect actors. (I'm not saying they were perfect perfect, but they all were amazing.)

Sakura, in the books, I never really liked the Hobbits, either. But you simply can't tell the story without them. Without them, the ring never would've been destroyed. All others would've fallen to its will.

British myths eh?.. Also noticed alot of heavy Norsh influence, what with the dwarves and the different varients of elves and the overall geography...
But sure the Hobbits were Dutch. Just pick up any Hobbit-containing book and read their language and dialect and how they speak. Who else calls an eliphant an "Oliphant"?

I agree with Sakura!
The movies would be so much better than they are already are if Frodo and Sam would just die in the first movie. Pippen is sooo anoying! I hate him! When he dropped all that stuff down that well/hole in the mines in the first movie, that made me so mad! If I were Gandalf, I wouldve shoved him down there too. The third movie is awsome, but a bit too long. There was too much of frodo and sam just wandering around. Besides the hobbits,(we hates them! we hates them forevers!) I loved the movies. The only thing better than the movies were the books.
