Ok, I'm a math guy. I'm majoring in math, so math is on my mind a lot. Here's a (simple) math game. Name the best (or at least, a good) number. Just say what number it is and what makes it a special number. Note: Big numbers don't count.

1
It's the only integer that's a unit number. Also, it doesn't change numbers when multiplying/dividing. Also, everything between 0 and 1 (ie 1/2) are just really bizarre numbers (square them and they get Smaller, for example). Ok, a lot of reasons, but anyway.. someone else go.

I say 0 is because without 0 there would not be any other numbers. It is the basis of the matamatical system. It was one of the last numbers to be discovered. And and (dang I wish my old post about this wasnt deleated)!

Just take my word for it, 0 is the best!

GO ZERO!!!

-1 because it's so mysterious.

All negative numbers are mysterious because you can't visually see them, you can't have -1 apples sitting on the table, you can have 0 apples, but not any lower. And -1 is like the unit of negative numbers.

1, 0, and -1 are all intriguing numbers, but they cannot compare to the two numbers that I would like to submit in reply.

The first of these numbers is π (~3.1415927...). It is a great number because it is a relatively small number, but in a way it is the largest because it does not have an end (that we know of). Its simplicity complements its complexity in ways that most people do not even grasp, including myself. In fact, scientists and mathematicians around the world have been studying this number π for many years, and will likely spend many more in doing so.

Another equally interesting number, although not as well grasped as pi, is the number "i". It is defined as the sqare root of -1. As we all know, any number multiplied by itself results in a positive number. -4 × -4 = +16. Thus, the square roots of 16 are 4 and -4. However, negative numbers were given no such courtesy until calculus came around. So, the square root of -1 is i. The square root of -4 is 2i, and the square root of -9 is 3i, etc. Isn't that cool?

Anyhow, so there you have my answers. But, if I had to choose one of the two numbers to be the best, it would have to be π.

I like π.

That just adds to my point of how mysterious -1 and the rest of the negative numbers are.

Strange numbers are 7 and 13. 13 brings doom and 7 brings luck... what if you put them together to do 713?

Another great number (and I'm sorry, 666, a bunch of 9's listed in a row, 7, 13... yeah, um, whatever...)... another, well, somewhat nice number anyway, is 0!. Why? Because it, like SO many other things in math, is counter-intuitive. 0! = 1.

But it means no big, pointless numbers!!!

Now, I like the number 33. It just appears in my life everywhere, it's awesome.

And, take 33, add another 3 (As there could be 3 3's, because it is a number only consisting of 3's in the first place) Then multiply it by 2 (Amount of numbers in the original 33) And you get 666.

Now, what is not fun about that? And, as said before, I like 33 because it's EVERYWHERE!!!!

For example, I would not be suprised if I was on a chair lift with the number 33. I see it everywhere, seriously, so, I love the number, it's great.
I smile because I have no idea what's going on. :D
