I'm a geek, and proud of it. Although, not in the traditional sense. I don't much enjoy biting heads off of chickens (if you don't know what I'm talking about, you're obviously not a geek.) I'm primarily a geek of math and computers. Currently enrolled in Elementary Differential Equations (aka Calculus 4), Elementary Linear Algebra, and Calculus 3. I've taken all the computer classes possible at my community college, am a web developer, and program in C++, VB (sucky language, but still..), Perl.. mostly those three, though i also know assembly, java, and a few others...and of course I know HTML and all that crap.

Anyway, there we go.

Well, all at once within the upcoming 3 months, I'll be learning HTML, Flash and possibly VisualBasic...I'm an expert at Math, and I would rather spend my time solitarily on the computer than going outside, to school, to watch TV (waste of time I'm tellin' ya!) or anything that involves 'other people' as I enjoy my solitarness.
I can be considered a geek, though I'm not a stupid dumbass that has a group of other stupid dumbass friends all wearing glasses, I am a stupid dumbass with a group of stupid dumbass friends and ALL BUT ONE wears glasses, though not all the time. If anything, I am a geek and probably proud.

Aw. I posted here last night, and it ate my post. Lemme sum it up again.

I don't know if I'm really a geek. I'm not good with labels at all. I'm good at math and science, and I enjoy both if I've got a decent teacher. Currently enrolled in an upper level chem class and a pre-calc class. Going to take a chem quiz as soon as I finish typing this. :D

I wear glasses, too, though I prefer contacts. I think I look better without the glasses. Um. I know a little HTML, though I haven't used it in a while. I'd need a bit to refresh myself, if I needed to use it.

I like being a geek, it keeps me away from the girls(No offense or stereotype intended, but the only girls around are 'normal').

Ya like I know HTML and I run the 50 meter dash, but I make animations yet I'm a 2 year high jump champion. I read sprite comics but I'm on the swim team so my geek is equaled out by my jock so I don't know what I am!!!!!!!!!

Floor hockey is easy and I swim but yes that's right it cause its winter. Last year I couldn't get on the team cause I destroyed my leg over and over again but yes I am atheltic and Ice Shards might know that I was on the track team for grade 6.

Yay for geeks. I'm one and (sort of) proud of it. I used to like sports and would do track and volleyball and basketball and X stuff but I've morphed into a couch potato. High school does that to you.

Yes strange but just that strange that I shall venture into the unknow and unlock the secerts of the Jock and Nerd. I shall go where no Nerock has gone before! I shall fight evil forces of the stoners and become the greatest Nerock ever.

Well, I use to play vollyball, baseball, and be in dance. (If you don't think dance is a sport, you should go try it some time. It takes a lot of skill to get it down) I'm in dance now. I would be in tradisonal sports (aka vollyball, basketball etc.) but I'm to shy and last time I was in sports like that, the coaches were idots. So would that make me a Nerock? I'm more of a freek than a nerd. So would I be a Freok? I'm also a full fledged band geek. Hmmmm. Anywho, I like the term Nerock.:)

Ok, um, let's make sure we understand something. Just because you play sports doesn't make you a "jock". And just because you play around on computers or know HTML doesn't make you a "geek", "nerd", etc. Generally speaking, a geek or nerd is someone who actually dedicates his time to the exploration and study of a given literary, scientific, or otherwise purely mental endeavor (e.g. languages, programming, mathematics, literature, etc.)

"Jock" is pretty much the same, but in the opposite direction and, well, with less intelligence, IMO.

Now that that's settled, just because you play sports and are into computers does not make you somewhere in between a "jock" and "geek". Simply put, logic may be fuzzy, but it's not that fuzzy. Here is a clear example: I am very much a geek; I dedicate almost ALL of my spare time to researching mathematics and programming, and a little bit to languages or literature. Yet at the same time, I've been in Karate (Shotokan Karate of American, quite easily one of the hardest styles in the U.S.) for about 3-4 years now, have taken up Tai Chi Chuan recently, done the whole weight-lifting thing, played basketball, baseball, bowling, etc. That doesn't make me a jock. It just means I exercise.

Now, on to MatrixWarrior. What do you mean, "Don't you think of what would become of you if you told the whole world..."? So what if I'm a geek? Let me put it this way... What you're saying implies that you believe that, by announcing or letting people know my interests, I will be discriminated against. Therefore, as I have announced my interests, do you discriminate against me? If not, then what's there to worry about? If so, then that's your problem, not mine. And if you want to make it my problem, I can kick your ass :-).

That said, any single girls in here around the age 18 who live in Northern California? ;-)
