I've been thinking about this for some time, the origin of Mario. What ever happened to that first princess before Toadstool? Who were mario's parents whose feet are the only evidence of their existance?
The Mario of Donkey Kong rescues Princess #1. I forget her name so I'll refer to her as Numbah One. After that ugly Giant Ape Scales Building And Steals Girl incident, Mario's luck doesn't improve and he faaaalls down a pipe into the Mushroom Kingdom, where he rises up and becomes the Hero of Mushrooms.
Princess One and Mario are given the recognition as citizens of The Mushroom Kingdom for their bravery, and the Princess even gets a place in power, becoming the first human monarch of the land.
Now, being the only humans in a location heavily populated with mushrooms, they eventually have children, Mario Jr. and Luigi. although Luigi gets kidnapped and Mario lost as well, another race of kind people on an island just off of the Mushroom Kingdom help bring the children to their parents, hence forming the Alliance between Yoshis and Mushrooms.
As Mario and Luigi grow older, so does the daughter of the princess, the heir to the throne. Now Bowser still has some controll over his Kingdom of DOOOOM, and a threat of humans overpopulating the Mushroom Kingdom and depriving him of any chance of a good invasion ires him. So he captures the princess and sends out his children to fortify their defenses all over Bowser's Empire, from Donut Island to Cookie Island and everything in between.
Unfortunately for Bowser, his children are all slain, his kingdom torn and shattered, and he himself destroyed...
But a few survived the War.. remember those Koopas and Charging Chucks and other enemies you jumped over and ignored? Bowser had another son, a son of such power and potential that he did not send him into his Army like his other sons who became Generals. Rather, like his father before him, this one was watched over by an elderly Magikoopa until he was strong enough to avenge the death of his father..
After a few decades, the Mushroom Empire annexes several of the lands taken from Bowser during the previously mentioned War and several descendants of Mario and Luigi take the thrown. It is a quiet time, and the people of the Mushroom Empire live in their Golden Age. That is, untill Bowser II invades in flying warships, turning all the kings into animals. It is then up to Mario III and Luigi Jr to save the Empire of Mushrooms from the Son of the Koopa King, turning the leaders of the different provinces back to normal.

And thus is my interpitation of the family trees of the Mario series, with Mushrooms and Koopas being at war forever, Yoshies being the aloof guardians (much like the Sheikah), and the Humans from Mario's gene pool being the eternal heros of the land (much like Link O_O)

Please, your thoughts? ^__^ I don't have complete information on all the mario games and manuals, so im sure some of you have other interpretations or things to add on!

i think that mario, being really cool, did it all by himsilf, not by generations of marios. (even though it wouldnt be a bad game playing marios son)
I think that marios girlfriend (number one) was kidnaped by donkey kong, he eventually gets her back, but i think that there relation ship breaks up.
and i think that mario has always been in mushroom kingdom, and being surronded by pipes as transportation to go to somewhere else in the blink of an eye, got facinated of it and became a plummer. (i would too if I controld the eniter world of transportation!) where he got his jumping skill, i dont know. But maybe its cause he got good from just hitting blocks by jumping and got much better as he got more coins (i would hit blocks for cash!)
then comes bowser, he kidnaps princess peach, and its up to mario, (cause the toads are too short and cant jump well) his bro's around, just not up to the chalenge (unless theres a second player ;) )
SM2: so he wins, and then daisy is captured I dont know why peach helps out, maybe there cousnins, i think that daisys also a queen.
so that about does it.
